It was the last Correale heirs, brothers Alfredo and Pompeo, who arranged for the family summer residence to pass into the hands of the City of Sorrento with all its prestigious and extremely rare collections. Therefore, for about a century, ten thousand unique pieces were exposed to the public in the villa's twenty-four rooms. From the paintings of the major Neapolitan and Flemish authors of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries to the collection of paintings of the Posillipo School. From the collection of nineteenth-century inlaid furniture to the collections of Bohemian crystal and Murano glass, Neapolitan nativity scene shepherds, Capodimonte and Chinese porcelain, watches and antique cameras. A passion for collecting also transferred to the careful selection of plants for the large park surrounding the villa-museum.
